Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin Williams, is making her directorial debut with a quirky romantic comedy. The movie, set in 1989, features a script by acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (known for Juno and Jennifer’s Body) and stars Kathryn Newton as a goth high schooler who brings a charming Victorian corpse, played by Cole Sprouse, back to life. The trailer focuses a lot on the 1980s setting, with the song "The Promise" by When in Rome, and suggests the love story is forbidden and might not end well. Watch the trailer below:
#2 Dune: Part 2 - 1 March 2024

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are back, along with new faces Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and a very bald Austin Butler. This part will complete adapting Frank Herbert’s original novel, but Villeneuve already has ideas for extending the story, hinting at a potential Dune Messiah adaptation. In Dune Part 2, Paul Atreides, along with Chani and the Fremen, is out for payback against those who messed up his family. Zendaya brings the drama in this sizzling tennis film directed by Luca Guadagnino, where a scandalous love triangle takes the spotlight. The Euphoria star portrays Tashi Duncan, a tennis whiz turned coach after a career-ending injury. Tashi is married to Art (Mike Faist from West Side Story), a Grand Slam champion struggling with a losing streak. In a bid to break the streak, she enters Art into a challenger event where he faces off against Patrick (Josh O'Connor from The Crown), who happens to be Art's former best friend and Tashi's ex-boyfriend. Ryan Gosling takes on the role of Action Star Ken in this action-comedy as Colt Seavers, a seasoned stuntman. Colt finds himself on a movie set with his director ex-girlfriend, played by Emily Blunt. When the film's leading actor (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) goes missing, Colt steps up to locate him, applying his on-screen skills to a real-world rescue mission. Directed by David Leitch, a former stunt performer, The Fall Guy promises an array of thrilling stunts, including a 150-foot fall and a scene where Gosling surfs through Sydney's streets, pulled by a moving vehicle. #5 Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - 24 May 2024

This fifth film in the wild and car-packed world of Mad Max is all about Furiosa, the character Charlize Theron portrayed in 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road. Now, Anya Taylor-Joy plays the younger version of the charactor, who is taken from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, and ends up with a group of bikers led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). As two powerful leaders fight for control of the Citadel, Furiosa faces numerous challenges and plans her return home through the Wasteland. Watch the trailer below:
#6 Inside Out 2 - 14 June 2024

The movie Inside Out, released in 2015, is considered one of Pixar's best, capturing the essence of emotions in a beautifully crafted way. After successfully bring emotions like Joy (played by Amy Poehler) and Sadness (portrayed by Phyllis Smith) to life, Disney Pixar is revisiting Inside Out to explore more of Riley's mind. Riley, once a young girl navigating her family's challenging move from the Midwest, is now a teenager in San Francisco, grappling with a new emotion: Anxiety, portrayed by Maya Hawke. #7 Bettlejuice 2 - 6 September 2024
Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel, Beetlejuice 2, and it looks like it's going to be just as wild as the first one. They're keeping most of the plot details a secret, but we do know that Jenna Ortega is playing Winona Ryder's daughter. This means the Deetz family will once again be at the heart of the movie. For the sequel, Keaton is making his return to play the infamous Beetlejuice, joined by O'Hara and Ryder, with the new additions including Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe. The official poster and trailer have yet to be released.
#8 Joker: Folie à Deux - 4 October 2024

In the next installment of their award-winning 2019 supervillain movie Joker, director Todd Phillips have enlisted Lady Gaga to join the cast. While the full story details are yet to be revealed, the pictures released so far strongly hint that the movie will draw heavily from the classic Joker and Harley relationship in DC comics. Usually, the two characters meet when Dr. Harleen Quinzel begins working at Arkham Asylum as a psychiatrist. Over time, she falls in love with the Joker and becomes his partner in crime. It was reported that the movie is a musical. The official poster and trailer have yet to be released.
#9 Wicked Part 1 - 27 November 2024

After endless rumours about who will be in it, the first part of Wicked is finally happening. Cynthia Erivo is playing Elphaba, the green-skinned witch, and Ariana Grande is playing Galinda, the popular and pink-loving witch. Just like in Gregory Maguire's book, Elphaba and Galinda are students at Shiz University and go through friendship, learning magic, and even romance while figuring out who they are. But things change when Elphaba is unfairly called the "wicked" witch. The movies will show how she became the villain we know and dig into her relationships with other familiar Oz characters.
