Anyone who loves their sweet treats will certainly recognise Peko-chan. As the adorable mascot of the popular Milky candy, she is known as the forever 6-year-old with a cheeky grin. For Spring-Summer 2023, Peko has been reimagined into a futuristic form for a Y2K-inspired makeup collection with shu uemura.

After teaming up with Hello Kitty and Sailor Moon in the past, shu uemura’s collaboration with Peko promises to be a makeup collection like no other.

There’s plenty to look forward to. The collection comprises 12 products including eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, and blushes – each sporting a sleek, silver packaging. Fueled by bright candy colours and syrupy textures, this delectable collection gives makeup enthusiasts the perfect excuse to unleash their inner maverick with endless looks.

Add playful pops of colour to your eyes with the limited edition eye palettes ($95 each). Packaged as a silver tin case (inspired by candy tins), the two palettes each feature six all-new colours with a delicious milky candy scent – yum!

Raspberry Lollipop is a juicy berry eyeshadow palette with gorgeous pink and purple hues paired with neutral peach and brown shades. Colourful yet versatile, all six shades in this palette definitely allow you to create an array of eye makeup looks for every occasion.

Prefer something fresher? Then Lemon Fizz will be right up your alley. This vibrant citrus-y eyeshadow palette contains green, lemon-yellow, orange, and brown shades. Whether it’s just one shade and mixed altogether, the possibilities for candy-inspired makeup looks are endless.

shu uemura’s range of kinu lip products gets its name from the Japanese word for ‘silk’. Just like the delicate fabric, the kinu satin ($53 each) and kinu cream ($50 each) glide effortlessly onto your lips for a luxurious and long-lasting feel.

For the shu uemura x Peko collection, the kinu satin fuses sweet-as-sugar colours with a milky candy scent into one bullet lipstick. Of course, you can expect delicious candy-inspired shades: Peachy Taffy (a peach pink) and Watermelon Gum (a fresh pink red).

Reminiscent of whipped cream, the kinu cream liquid lipsticks offer a soft, cocooning sensation with vibrant pigmentation. Applying them to your lips will be a full sensorial experience. Choose from three shades: Orange Gumballs (a muted candied orange) and Cinnamon Whip (a warm brown) – both scented with a milky candy fragrance – and Nectarine Drops (a juicy red orange).

After adorning your eyes and lips, complete your Y2K-inspired look with the face colors ($62 each). Finely-milled yet pigmented, these powder blushes blend beautifully into your cheeks for a soft wash of colour. Want a subtle glow? Opt for the M Milky Caramel, a brown shade in a matte texture with silver pearls. For a punchy pop of pink, choose P Strawberry Parfait: this irresistible strawberry hue has gold pearls for that sugar rush glow.

Just for this limited edition collection, two of shu uemura’s best-selling products have been dressed up in a modern and futuristic Peko design.

The iconic hard formula brow pencil ($40) is instantly recognizable for its traditional “naginata” shape with a hand-sharpened tip. Thanks to its hardness, you can draw hair-like strokes effortlessly and create the perfect pair of natural-looking eyebrows.

The petal 55 ($89) needs no introduction. This beloved foundation brush contains a whopping 198,000 delicate bristles to help you apply foundation flawlessly and naturally with just one sweep.

When it's time to remove all that makeup at the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with Asia’s number cleansing oil, the ultime8 sublime beauty cleansing oil ($175). For this limited edition collection, it’s hard to miss Peko-chan who is featured prominently on the striking silver bottle.

What makes the ultime8 sublime beauty cleansing oil so well-loved? It contains Tsubaki oil from Toshima Island in Japan. This nourishing oil effectively eliminates makeup, dirt, and impurities, while leaving your skin feeling soft, moist, and refreshed.

The shu uemura x peko makeup collection will be launched on 1 June 2023 at all shu uemura stores islandwide (ION Orchard, Bugis Junction, TANGS at Tang Plaza, Takashimaya S.C., Metro Paragon and Isetan Scotts) and Sephora, and Lazada.
