Pop-Up Allpress Espresso Café At Tanjong Pagar Offers Unique Coffee-Infused Desserts
On a scale of 1 to 10, how addicted to coffee are you? Whatever the answer is, you'll be delighted by the artisanal coffees and coffee-infused desserts at the pop-up Allpress Espresso café and retail store at 73 Duxton Road.
Founded in New Zealand, Allpress Espresso has been serving as a specialty coffee roaster for independent cafés around the world. The brand uses a custom 'Hot Air Roaster' that dissipates that typical burnt taste from using traditional roasting methods. As each coffee bean is evenly roasted, the coffee reveals unique flavour profiles and maintains a consistent flavour.

The Allpress Espresso bar showcases two Allpress Espresso signature medium roast blends: the sweet and complex Allpress Espresso Blend and the smooth and mellow Browns Mill Organic.
All you coffee connoisseurs can get your caffeine fix with brews such as Espresso ($5), Long Black (from $5), Flat White (from $6) and Latte (from $6), Mocha (from $8) and Iced Latte Float ($11).
Our recommendation is the V60 OR Kalita Pourover (from $8.64) brewed with this season's single-origin bean, an organic Peru Estrella Divina. This potent yet smooth coffee has hints of apricot, crisp red apple and hazelnut.

If you craving for something sweet and a lil' caffeine boost at the same time, the cafe's dessert menu has you covered.
Made by the team behind The Dark Gallery, the line-up of cakes, ice cream, sorbet and even granola are prepared with homemade Allpress espresso.
For something substantial or to share, go for the Affogato Sundae ($16). It comes with two scoops of ice cream - vanilla and Allpress Mocha - a canelé and delicate crispy almond Florentine. Finishing it off are two espresso shots making it the ultimate perk-me-up treat.

We opted to customise the ice cream flavours and chose Dulcey Latte and Mocha. The former was luscious and milky with a subtle caramelised taste, while the latter was like a rich mocha in ice cream form.
If you like the sound of a good ol' vanilla cake with a coffee twist, try the Vanilla Espresso Cake ($9). We would have preferred a more moist sponge cake but the layers of rich cream made up for it.

It was love at first bite with the glorious Coffee Basque Cheesecake ($8). This seemingly ordinary cake was beautifully creamy and rich yet delicate such that we guzzled it down with no signs of fatigue. It had a buttery, crumbly base and a subtle coffee aroma that only came as an aftertaste.

Other coffee-infused desserts you can expect are Cold Brew Sorbet (from $6) and house-made Allpress Espresso Chocolate Granola infused with Browns Mill Organic ($8).
There are also non-caffeinated food items on the food menu such as savoury bagels and pastries.
And here's more good news: from 9 to 14 May 2023, Allpress @ 73 Duxton will be celebrating its opening with a 1-for-1 promotion for all espresso- based coffees, which makes each drink priced from just $2.50.
