Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

Netflix's Emily in Paris might have lost its lustre over the years, but the City of Light will always have a timeless allure. If you're itching for a back-in-Paris experience, you might just find it at Conrad Centennial Singapore's Lobby Lounge where you can have a pampering time enjoying the new A Taste of Paris Afternoon Tea.

Inspired by Parisian living and French gastronomy, the afternoon tea features iconic French desserts and savoury bites along with the essentials - scones with clotted cream and jam as well as tea.

It arrived as a stunning tree-like stand with cascading tiers, each displaying dainty little treats that were just as intricately designed.

For savouries, you can expect four French-inspired dishes including a succulent Moulard Duck Confit with orange and star anise reduction, tender Smoked Salmon topped with Avruga Caviar for a subtle burst of saltiness, and Foie Gras with Fig Mostarda balancing out the meaty flavour with a bright sweetness.

Prepare your phone for the Roquefort Crème Brûlée, which has a fun Instagrammable element where a server will caramelise the top layer of the blue cheese at your table.

Granted, blue cheese can be scary, but this one was a milder variety and the sweetness of the sugar helped balance out the pungent earthy taste. Even if you're not a fan of blue cheese, this might still be up your alley.

Feeling impressed with the savouries, we moved on to the sweets including the Mont Blanc with a rich yet subtly sweet chestnut cream in a light and buttery crust.

We also adored the Mille Feuille made with rich French vanilla cream and mascarpone cheese in layers of flakey, buttery pastry.

But our favourite had to be the Tarte au Chocolat which had a decadent mix of salted caramel and Valrhona 64% Manjarin dark chocolate ganache and chocolate crémeux. And finally, the Ispahan tasted as good as it looked, with fresh raspberries and rose crème between a macaron.

To complement the bites are a wide selection of teas including Sweet Kiss, a fruity delight with hints of berry and tropical flavours, and Morgentau, a soothing Sencha tea brightened by a fruity aftertaste.

This afternoon tea's artful presentation set our expectations high and happily for us it had form and substance. No corners were cut when it came to quality and there were several luxurious ingredients from caviar and foie gras to blue cheese. Every item had perfectly balanced flavours and generous ratio of the good stuff like smoked salmon and chocolate ganache.

A Taste of Paris Afternoon Tea is priced at $49++ per person and is inclusive of a two-hour free flow of Ronnefeldt Tea and Brazilian coffee, with the option to include Lillet Rosé Tonic at $10++ per glass. It's available daily from now till 31 July 2023 in two seatings: from 1 to 3 pm and 3.30 to 5.30pm.
