There's no doubting what everyone's favourite coffee cafe is - it's none other than Starbucks. Even with over a hundred outlets in Singapore, caffeine-lovers can't get enough, as evident from the long queues that form on a regular basis.  In response, the cult coffee chain has blessed us with a handful of new outlets, in both Singapore's town area as well as the humble heartlands. Here are 5 new Starbucks outlets in Singapore that recently opened in 2022, all of which come in their own aesthetically-pleasing themes.

#1: Starbucks at Tanglin Mall

Need a break from the crowds in between shopping at Orchard Road? Head off to the new Starbucks at Tanglin Mall, which is located along the further end of the stretch, away from all the heavy action.

With muted green and rosy tones as its main colour scheme, this cosy outlet has a jungle-themed feature wall, with a mural of tigers and whimsical plants stretched across its entire length. This particular space is actually on a raised platform, while sofa booths arranged in a staircase-like formation are situated below, next to the counter.

#2: Starbucks at Yew Tee Point

Westies have a new spot for chill hangouts thanks to the new Starbucks at Yew Tee Point - the only heartland outlet on this list. Plenty of botanical-themed art lines the walls, as an ode to coffee plantations and the small but mighty coffee bean.

Those who love pink will appreciate the specially-commissioned pink wallpaper with illustrations of flora and fauna alongside coffee farmers and rainbows.

#3: Starbucks at Takashimaya

Taking over the spot where KFC once used to be is Starbucks at Takashimaya, a corner unit clad in light wooden decor. This seems reminiscent of a Japanese zen cafe - which is quite fitting, given its location within the Japanese department store, one floor above their Food Village.

Simple nature-themed art covers a couple of walls and pillars, while a soothing green brightens up the counter area.

If people watching is your thing, grab a seat by the window where you can check out shoppers going about their activities. If you’re here alone, or are looking for a more intimate space, the counter seats set against the pillar are a good choice.

#4: Starbucks at Raffles City

The previous Starbucks at Raffles City Shopping Centre had been sitting right outside the mall’s entrance for as long as we can remember, which is why their closure was met with a bittersweet sentiment. But not all was lost, for it turns out they were simply moving units - to another space within the mall itself.

Other than having more modern-looking interiors, this shift to the second floor indoors also means better comfort, as it’s fully air-conditioned in contrast to its semi-open past.

Having shed its previous old-timey brown decor, version 2.0 of this convenient central outlet has a mermaid theme in calming shades of teal and sea green. Spot the siren mural and the mermaid scale patterns lining the pillars!

#5: Starbucks at Gleneagles Hospital

Emotions can run high at hospitals but whatever it is, one can’t go wrong with some good coffee - or tea, if you’re worried about the jitters. If you happen to be at Gleneagles Hospital and need a breather with a comforting drink, there’s a new Starbucks here that’ll bring a sense of calm with its interior full of muted tones and art pieces.
