These Surreal Loewe Sandals Ft. Roses, Birthday Candles & Nail Polish Bottles In Place Of Heels
It might be summer all year round in the tropics, but we’re still lusting over these Loewe sandals from the Spanish luxury fashion house’s Spring 2022 collection.

Although the outfits that emerged on the runway were structured and eye-catching to say the least—from long black column dresses to ankle-length tube dresses in pale blue and flesh-coloured prints, it was the models’ footwear that first caught my attention.

An ode to the surreal times we’re living in, the models wore strappy leather sandals in black or white, with three-inch heels made from various objects like bottles of nail polish, pink birthday candles, and even a bar of soap.

The prettiest yet most tragic-looking of all had to be the upside down flowers, which made it look like the blooms were being crushed under the weight of the wearer with every step.

These playful shoes made me take a second look, in a collection that Loewe itself termed as “neurotic, psychedelic, completely hysterical.”

Shoppers will be spoilt for choice by imaginative heel styles that include roses and tulips, alongside nail polish bottles in red, blush pink, and sparkly silver. Foodies may also find humour in heels that resemble cracked eggs.

The simple, thin straps on the goatskin leather sandals allowed the heels to stand out. Best paired with laid-back dresses or a blazer, these surreal shoes are truly otherworldly.

Available in Loewe stores and online at multi-brand platforms like NET-A-PORTER and MATCHESFASHION, these sandals are priced from US$1,100 per pair.
