LEGO has just added two new sets to their Botanical Collection, a range of beautiful brick-built plants that give the home a touch of nature, albeit a permanent one and without the need to water them.

They are arriving in Singapore right in time for Mother's Day - perfect for mums whose love language is both gifts and quality time.

LEGO Orchid

This new set features six large flowers and two newly opened flowers. The stems and leaves sit on bark mix and a blue fluted vase made from LEGO elements.

The Orchid is wonderfully detailed and realistic-looking for one that's made of bricks. Besides the large pink and white flowers, there are also little ones that have barely bloomed as well as flower buds.

It's highly customisable and can look like a different sculpture every time its rebuilt. Whenever you fancy a new look, simply take it apart and recreate it to give your home a fresh spin.

This piece took about two hours to build with a lot of leisurely meandering in-between. Some parts were a little tricky, but the experience was a relaxing and rewarding one and could be completed much faster as a group.

LEGO Succulents

While the LEGO Orchid is classically pretty, the LEGO Succulents has a more unique and striking aesthetic.  The cluster of brick succulents have such a visually pleasing mix of contrasting shapes and bold yet soothing colours.

This set comes with three separate building instructions so friends and family can enjoy building it together.

This set is also versatile to display. The separate plants and cacti can be built and connected together or displayed individually.

Although these LEGO sets are designed for adults aged 18+, they'll probably be a hit with older kids in the family as well. My 12-year old cousin breezed through the LEGO succulent piece in an hour!

Both sets are priced at $79.90 each and will be launched just in time for Mother's Day on 1 May 2022 at LEGO Certified Stores, LEGO Official Store on Lazada, Shopee and Amazon, as well as major retailers and department stores in Singapore.
