Tamago-EN's new Alice's Tea Party Bundle ($30) is a beautifully presented tea set for two as a snack or a light meal. It comes with six sandwiches, an egg potato salad, two drinks and a parfait.
We started with the Drink Me Potions, sweet berry sodas with a refreshing splash of mint. The cute little "drink me" tags and mini fruit skewer were a fun touch.
Next was the appetiser, the Hatter's Mentaiko Egg Potato Salad, which was shaped like a pointed hat. This comfort dish may look simple but was a surprising hit for its familiar home-cooked taste and piquant mentaiko flavour that's more pronounced than the typical mentaiko mayo.
After that, we moved on to the main course, the Dormouse's Mini Egg Sandwiches. These are made with cheese, ham, egg mayo, tomato and lettuce stashed between three stacks of soft bread. The highlight of this dish was the creamy and well-seasoned egg mayo - as expected from a restaurant that specialises in eggs.
Feeling pretty full, we dug into the Tweedle Berry Parfait, our favourite of the tea bundle! This dessert had silky, creamy Japanese pudding with sweet caramel and fresh cream, balanced with a tart strawberry compote and fresh fruit slices.
It had a perfect combination of sweetness and tanginess that was light and airy, and we ploughed through it in no time.
The Alice's Tea Party bundle is available for dine-in and delivery, and the items are also available a la carte:
- Hatter's Mentaiko Egg Potato Salad ($6.90)
- Dormouse's Mini Egg Sandwiches ($8.90 for 6 pieces)
