Vivian Lai's Husband Alain Ong (Aka Pokka CEO) Suspended And Is Now Pending An Internal Audit

Is this how she became the Pokka ambassador?

According to Shin Min Daily News, a new wave of management has taken over Pokka International, the company behind your favourite green tea and iced lemon tea. The change also includes a replacement for Alain Ong, the Group CEO, otherwise known as Mediacorp artiste Vivian Lai's husband.

Besides Alain Ong, we understand that there are several other C-level executives from various departments who have also been replaced. As of today, Alain's duties have been taken over by Rieko Shofu, Group CEO of Pokka Corporation (Singapore) as well as the acting CEO of Pokka International.

According to Shin Min, internal auditors from Pokka's HQ in Japan arrived in Singapore and began an internal audit two weeks ago and eight employees were dismissed and they have since been forbidden to enter the company's premises without permission from the upper management.

Though Alain's role have been replaced, Pokka confirmed that he remains an employee. Besides this, the Group also shared that none of the terminated personnel in Singapore are Japanese.

His wife Vivian Lai was paid S$1 million (in 2012) to be Pokka's ambassador

In case you didn't know, this amount exceeds the existing market rate by a whole lot. Seriously. Even veteran actors like our ah ge or ah jies don't get paid this much.

The 41-year-old Mediacorp artiste is notable for hosting various variety shows on Channel 8; many of which was co-hosted with Pornsak, a familiar face on TV who happens to be the spokesperson for Asian Story packaged drinks, another brand under Pokka.

Alain Ong would fork out $30,000 every year to go Europe with his family

Though Vivian Lai's endorsement payout seems questionable, there's no doubt that Alain Ong is a family man. Since he started a family with Vivian Lai, they have always been his number one. In an interview with Edgeprop, Alain revealed that he would always rush home for dinner as often as possible.

In another interview with 8 days,  he also shared that their family would spend up to $30,000 a year to fly business class to Europe.

"Some people may think it’s not necessary to spend so much on plane tickets. But for me, it’s only once a year. We’ve worked hard for one whole year"

Would you pay $30,000 every year just to travel to Europe? It's a no for us.
