It takes a lot of courage to fight and speak about an abusive relationship -whether it is your family, friends or the world. It is just not easy and like it is for a lot of women, TV star Tina Dutta who rose to popularity with her show Uttran spoke about her five-year abusive relationship.

The actress during an interview with a leading daily spoke about her relationship with a man outside the industry. The man was extremely brutal and abused her physically, verbally and emotionally.

Tina reveals that she never wanted to reveal details about her relationship but after the excessive torture, she was forced to make a move. Tina said that the two had met through common friends and that her boyfriend used to abuse her in front of them too.

Like every other girl, she wished & thought of working on the relationship but very soon she gave up all the hopes that it was never meant to work. Like Tina, there are a lot of women, and they are definitely more than you think, who tolerate abusive behaviour in the name of love or because of the lack of appropriate knowledge. It is harmful either of the ways and there is no justification for mistreating at all. NEVER let anyone destroy your self-respect and remember that you need to SPEAK UP whenever it makes you uncomfortable.

Not just Tina, but many other TV actresses have been a part of violent relationships and have had the courage to bravely speak about it.
