- India is not the only country which celebrates it's Independence Day on August 15. North Korea, South Korea, Liechtenstein, Bahrain and Republic of Congo also share this exact date.

- Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru would not have been the first Prime Minister of India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had majority of votes but Nehru didn't want to play second-in-command. Also, because Mahatma Gandhi had a soft spot for him, he requested Sardar Patel to step down.
