Winter can be extremely cruel season. All the wonderland and festive things aside, it is not an easy weather to deal with. Winter is extremely dry season, all the cold harsh winds and heated air inside causes the skin to loose every ounce of moisture it has. Rosy cheeks look good but soon they start cracking and bleeding due to extreme dryness.  Chapped lips, dry hands, flaky skin is not good. It looks extremely uncool(pun intended) and unhygienic.

Fierce chilly winds along with internal heat rob skin of all it's moisture. This can cause in redness, flakiness and in some cases bleeding. Therefore it is he wise decision to select oil based heavy moisturisers which penetrate deep into the skin to hydrate every single layer for long period of time.

Shower with Lukewarm water

Do not under any circumstances bath in hot water, no matter how tempting it may sound, do not bath in hot water. It is best to take showers with lukewarm water during winter season. Hot and steaming water can cause all the natural oils from skin to vanish leaving dry skin behind. Therefore it is suggested to take bath in lukewarm water, which will not only be comfortable but will also not cause the skin to loose it's natural moisture and moisturise your skin after shower as quick as possible. The lukewarm water opens up all the pores of the skin and therefore any body oil or moisturiser will absorb deeply into the skin and hydrate it.

There are few places like elbows, knees, feet have thin skin and so they tend to loose moisture faster than other areas and develop white dry patches. It is recommend to moisturise these areas during night and let the moisturiser rest and seep deep into the skin to get rid of any dryness. You can also wear socks to soak the moisture within for better results.

Use DIY Masks instead of artificial products

It is better to use natural home made face masks to clear skin and achieve the winter glow and natural blush rather than using artificial chemical products. Sometimes these products tend to contain few ingredients that can cause the skin to become dry instead of staying hydrated. It is best to use natural products that are easily available at home to make face masks. Products like cream, yogurt, olive, jojoba, almond oil, honey etc   hydrate the skin naturally and give it long lasting natural glow without any side effect.

Rough hands, chapped hands, peeling skin and brittle nails are definitely not in anybody's list of wants. It is important to regularly moisturise nails, cuticles and hand to prevent the above from happening. Peeling skin can be painful and so can be chipped nails. Therefore it is best to moisturise hands, nails and cuticles with hand creams or oils and keep them hydrated permanently.
