Glycerine is an effective cleanser, that helps to gently get rid of the dirt and makeup without damaging your skin. To prepare your own cleanser at home, mix half a cup of water with one and a half tablespoons each of cornflour and glycerine. Boil the mixture till it appears clear, cool it down and apply some on moist skin and rinse it off with water.

Glycerine acts as a skin lotion, meaning that it preserves and retains lost moisture in your skin. This helps to maintain a healthy pH level and makes your skin soft and smooth. To make yourself a DIY moisturiser, add the juice of one lemon to 250 ml of glycerine. Mix it well and store it in an airtight glass container. Apply this prepared mixture on cleansed skin every night before you hit the bed and wake up with dewy skin every morning.

Acne scars, age spots and blemishes are hard to get rid of. However, with regular use of glycerine, these stubborn marks can fade away too. Mix equal amounts of petroleum jelly and glycerine and apply it to your skin or only on the affected areas. Wipe it off with a damp tissue after 20-30 minutes.

Glycerine acts as a mild sunscreen by creating a barrier on your skin and protecting it from the harmful rays of the sun as well as environmental pollutants. Mix 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with a few drops of glycerine and rosewater, transfer it to a spray bottle and mix it well. Store the mixture in the fridge and apply it on the exposed parts of the body before you head out. Remember to shake well before use!
