Mukkebaaz Mary Kom And Simranjit Kaur Win Gold At The President's Cup In Indonesia
Mary Kom, the six-time world champion has proved it once again! Mary Kom and 24-year-old Simranjit Kaur, the 2018 World Championships bronze winner, bought home gold at the 23rd President's Cup which took place in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. Mary Kom won gold in the 54 kg category and Simranjit Kaur won it in the 60 kg category at the event. The women boxers brought home all the four medals that were up for the winners. Mary Kom, the 36-year-old mother of three kids shared the happiness of her victory on Twitter with a video from the ceremony.

Mary Kom won the gold by beating Australia's April Franks by 5-0 and Simranjit Kaur beat Indonesia's Hasanah Huswatun 5-0, obtaining the winning title for the Indian team. The Indian men's team also won two silver and three gold medals through the rounds. All in all, this outstanding performance won the group the 'Best Team' award.
Mary Kom seems to be on a mission since her win at the Indian open held in May. Beginning her preparation for the World Championships which will be held from September 7th to 21st, the mukkebaaz is ready to accomplish the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
