Johnny Lever's 19-Year-Old Niece Noami Janumala Is The New Face Of Rihanna's Fenty!
A 19-year-old model from Mumbai, Noami Janumala is the new face of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. This young and gorgeous Indian girl is the daughter of comedian Jimmy Moses, the brother of the iconic comedian, Johnny Lever. The model who started her career in the fashion industry just three years ago is already a star in New York.
Noami began her career in India and then went ahead to work in campaigns for brands like H& M, Nike x Nordstrom, Adidas, Levi's, American Eagle and Alexander Wang. She was discovered because of her aesthetically beautiful Instagram profile, which she uses to take a stand against skin-colour discrimination in India.
In a recent interview with a popular magazine, Noami revealed about her shoot for Fenty's fashion line, where she was photographed and styled by Rihanna herself. Naomi said, “When I first met Rihanna, we hugged, and the first thing she asked me was, ‘Where [are] you from?’ When I told her I was from India, she screamed, ‘I knew it, I knew I wanted you! You’re so gorgeous, it’s annoying, I don’t even want to stand next to you! Ahhh!’” remembers Janumala, who was pleasantly surprised. “I can’t even believe it sometimes that she said all of that to me.”
Noami also shared that her experience with Rihanna was open and they got along extremely well. The model added, “I wish I could show you videos of how excited and dedicated she was while shooting. We clicked so well. Every time we got the shot, she would ask me, ‘Where have you been all my life?’ Everyone in the production team asked me if Rihanna and I had known each other before,”
Rihanna's makeup brand Fenty is the first of its kind because of its focus on different skin colours and its diversity, something that others brand lack right now. The line has got over 50 shades of foundation, Rihanna has made a groundbreaking debut with her brand in the industry.
The singer & entrepreneur is now set to launch a clothing line, which Noami stated is inspired by traditional Indian wear. “She told me how some of her clothes and earrings were inspired by a sari and jhumkas,” Noami said during her interview, adding that this was the reason Rihanna was eager on casting an Indian model for the campaign. What a luck, girl!
Noami's journey from Bombay to New York is reaching heights and we simply can't wait to see the pictures from the new campaign.
