On Sunday, two billion citizens of Hong Kong gathered to protest the extradition bill being proposed and supported by the Chief Execute, Carrie Lam. This bill would allow extradition( the action of handing over a person accused of a crime to another jurisdiction) from Hong Kong to Mainland China. The citizens fear that this step would expose the people of Hong Kong to China's questionable justice system and will further lead to exploitation of the city's judicial independence.

While Carrie Lam announced an apology last week and suspended the bill after the initial protest that took place on 9th June, the protests are continued. The crowd on Sunday consisted of two billion citizens who want nothing less than Carrie's resignation.

However, right between this peaceful protest, the people of Hong Kong have proved that they have a big heart and carried a heartwarming gesture as they parted ways in an orderly form to make way for an ambulance.

This video has restored our faith in humanity. They aren't just considerate but they also made sure that the streets of the city remained clean!

While China is backing the bill due to the uproar, Carrie said that she has heard the protestors 'loud and clear' and will'reflect deeply on what has transpired'. 38 people have been arrested until now, during the protests and only 8 were released. The fate of those behind the bars is still undecided.
