After being tempted by tons of mooncake launches - including Hello Kitty-themed ones and those that come in fancy light-up packaging - Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 is finally happening in exactly a week’s time. As with every year, Gardens by the Bay has done a great job in putting up their lantern displays, and although last year’s light-up was slightly more scaled-down than usual, 2021’s edition brings back the festivities at full force. Most of the exhibits come with free entry!

Following the theme “Blessings”, Gardens by the Bay’s Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 displays are all about optimism for the days to come. The grand highlight? A Sky Lanterns setup in the Supertree Grove, where a pair of moon bunny sculptures are seen releasing lucky paper lanterns into the sky.

Snaking up the Supertrees, the lanterns appear to be “floating” upwards - much like a scene from Disney’s Enchanted.

Surrounding this is a sprawling oriental naturescape featuring rocky mountains and majestic deer - all of which light up when night falls.

A stone’s throw from that is the Rabbits Trail, where adorable bunnies in different poses light up the way as you stroll. Spot the cute “pomelo head” ones for a good chuckle!
