The Marine Parade area may not be the first district you’d think of when planning a staycation, but you’ll want to give Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore a chance either way, especially if you’re a foodie, because that’s where some of the best restaurants and local eats are.

#4: Sofitel Sentosa Resort (from $270.50/night)

Whisk bae off on a romantic island retreat at Sofitel Sentosa Resort. A Luxury Room starts from $270.50/night, but we’d recommend going for a Luxury Garden View Room from $294/night to win extra lover points - the top-up amount is more or less negligible anyway. Nature views aside, you’ll be treated to free breakfast, and 25% off dining at the hotel’s cafes and restaurants.

Just a heads up: While the toilet area has a frosted glass door shielding it, the shower cubicle seems to be completely transparent. All the better to make the sparks in your relationship burn brighter, no? ;)
