Crayon Shinchan Run In Singapore Comes With Free Merch, Sign-Ups For Aug & Sept 2021 Already Open

Half the year has passed and if you’ve been keeping up with the fitness goals you’ve set at the beginning of 2021, good on you! If not, well…there’s always the second half of the year to pull up your socks, before it’s time to set those recurring resolutions once again.

For added motivation to work up a sweat, check out this Crayon Shinchan Run that’s happening in Singapore this August and September 2021, with free character merchandise thrown in as an incentive. While other themed runs usually cost a fair bit from $40 onwards, this one will set you back just $19!

This Crayon Shinchan Run is actually a virtual event, which means that there won’t be any fixed timing and location for you to complete the race. Instead, you’ll be tracking your movement via an app, wherever and whenever you like! Whether you wish to jog at a park, on a treadmill at the gym, or would rather cycle, the location and means of covering that distance is entirely up to you.

There are 2 race categories to choose from: 5km and 21km. If you would rather not attempt the entire distance at one go, you can always split it up into smaller mini runs at your own time and pace - perfect for beginners who are just starting out.

Upon completion of the race, you’ll be receiving an official Crayon Shinchan Virtual Run medal in either silver (5km) or gold (21km). Unfortunately, the window to have your name engraved on your medal for a fee is already closed, but they’re cute keepsakes all the same!

You’ll also get a white event tee, and can opt to have a long-sleeved version for an additional $5. Those who complete the 21km category get the additional perk of a black dri-fit finisher tee, also with a long-sleeved option with the same top-up pricing. That’s two free t-shirts if you take on the bigger challenge!

Other race entitlements include a drawstring bag and a sheet of tattoo stickers, along with a certificate of participation and an e-bib.

If that’s not enough Crayon Shinchan merch for you, you can also top-up $14 to get a cute tote bag, limited edition keychain, and face mask, or $40 to get a limited edition cyclist jersey and hoodie that’s said to be quick-drying and allows for comfortable movement.

The Crayon Shinchan Virtual Run will start on 1 August 2021 and end on 30 September 2021, 11.59pm. To participate, register via the JomRun app, and connect it to your preferred Google Fit/Strava/Polar/Apple Health device. Do note that to qualify for the race entitlements which will be mailed to you, you’ll have to capture proof of your completed distance and submit it via the app before the deadline.
