With the current ban on dining in at all food establishments in Singapore, cafes, restaurants, and bars alike have adapted by offering delivery services - not just for proper meals, but also afternoon teabottled cocktails with floating flower petals and soju (at just $6.50!).

Full House (满楼), a new retro Shanghai-themed bar in Singapore, has also taken the situation in their stride - by creatively turning their premises into a studio for private photo shoots. It’s surprisingly affordable, with prices starting from just $25, and your choice of free coffee or beer thrown in!

Read on to find out more about themed photo studio sessions at Full House in Singapore!

Full House (满楼) takes you back in time to the yesteryears of Shanghai, with red drapes, vintage-style wall posters, neon Chinese character signages, and old typewriters. The overall ambience is a grand and classy one that will make you feel like a badass heroine of an old-timey drama series.

At present, with pandemic restrictions on dining in place, Full House has converted their space into a photography studio for private photo sessions.

Sessions have to be booked in advance and there won’t be overlaps, so it’ll only be a single group of friends there at any one time. Without having to come in contact with other members of the public, apart from the staff, social distancing won’t be a problem here!

Entrance fees for a basic session costs just $25 per person, and you’re allowed to snap as many photos as you wish!

If you’d rather leave it to the pros, you can book a session with their professional photographer at $100 for 10 photos (3 edited), or $200 for 20 photos (5 edited). Photos will be sent to you within just 1 working day - super speedy!

All patrons will get to enjoy a free can of Lao Shan (Chinese beer) or specialty coffee - for takeaway, of course. Those who opt for the latter can choose from Americano, Long Black, Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino, and Flat White.

As of now, the duration of each session has not yet been determined. This will later be set depending on the popularity of the sessions, but for now, you can expect to be able to use the place for a comfortable hour or so - perhaps longer, if there are no bookings immediately after yours.

To max out your dollar, we suggest going all out with the theme and dressing up in a qipao or hanfu rather than your usual togs.

While the bar has old tea sets and Chinese paper fans for customers to use as props, you could also accessorise with oriental floral hair pins. A quick trip to Chinatown would probably help you settle that, else, there’s always good ol’ Taobao.

If you’re planning for a Chinese-style pre-wedding shoot involving couple kuas with your partner, this would be the perfect setting for traditional yet stylish portraits that your grandma is sure to approve of.

Reservations have to be made at least one day before, but you are encouraged to make plans with more advanced notice especially if you’re booking a session with their professional photographer.
