Smeg Has A Limited Edition 50's-Style Mickey Mouse Fridge & You Can Pre-Order It In Singapore

The Mayer x Disney air fryers and fans that we recently featured were a hit - though we’re barely surprised given that Mickey and Minnie Mouse are childhood favourites! To add on to the theme, you can now get a Mickey Mouse fridge for your kitchen, by popular retro-style home appliance brand, Smeg.

This 50’s-style Mickey Mouse refrigerator by Smeg was actually launched back in 2018, to celebrate the 90th and 70th anniversary of both brands respectively. It’s a limited edition item that isn’t readily available in stores...but we happened to find an official local retailer where you can still pre-order it from!

But first, more about the fridge and its design. While Smeg is known for its pastel-coloured kitchen appliances, this Mickey Mouse fridge comes only in white, with a black and white image of the well-loved cartoon character stretching out his arm to reach the door handle.

This colour combination is mighty apt, given how the illustration is done in a pencil sketch style that harks back to Disney’s early B&W days. It also allows the fridge to blend in well with sleek, minimalist kitchen decor, adding just the right amount of playfulness without looking juvenile.

This 281-litre fridge measures 153cm x 60cm x 72.8cm - the same size as Smeg’s regular free-standing refrigerator. As it’s relatively shorter than standard fridges from other brands, it’s suitable for child-free couples and small households who don’t need to store so much food at any one time.

With adjustable glass shelving, an ice compartment, and MultiFlow Cooling System that distributes and circulates cold air in the most optimum way, this Smeg Mickey Mouse fridge is fully compatible with Singapore’s local electricity standards and power plugs.

The Smeg Mickey Mouse fridge is open for pre-order on Singapore-based home store, Ideali, for the price of $4,861.They have a physical outlet at Clarke Quay, but the pre-order can conveniently be done online here.
