By now, you’ve probably exhausted a ton of your entertainment options, while waiting for what seems like forever for borders to open up again. There are only so many DIY activity kits you can attempt, and after a while, staycations start feeling the same. You can go on a food trail at these 14 new cafes & restaurants, but that would just break your new year’s resolution to keep in shape. If only clubbing could happen again - at least that’s a form of exercise. Sorta.

Did someone say clubbing? Well, we have news for you. While not an actual club, The Neon Playground will have you going wild with glow-in-the-dark paint in a splatterific art jamming session, all while grooving to sick beats with a live in-house DJ. This will be happening in Singapore on one day only, 22 January 2021, so it’s a book-now-or-miss it affair!

P.S.: Check out our article on 19 things to do in January 2021 for other activity ideas!

The Neon Playground is similar to Splat Paint House (which we wrote about here) in that they don’t offer your typical prim and proper art jamming experience. Instead of sitting down on stools and painting with just brushes, you’ll get to fling paint around and even shoot it from water guns and syringes with reckless abandon.

What makes The Neon Playground stand out even further, however, is the fact that everything will be happening in a dark room. Special glow-in-the-dark paint will be used, so you can turn your provided canvas - or your friends - into a unique neon masterpiece.

Paint-filled water balloons will also be part of the mix, so brace yourself for a crazy mess! Indeed, this won’t be for the faint of heart.

Coveralls and goggles will be provided for protection of your clothes and eyes. If you’re afraid of getting your hair stained a la Rainbow Dash, you might want to consider bringing a shower cap.

Hyping things up even more - not that you’ll need it much - is The Neon Playgrounds own in-house DJ who will be spinning some sick beats to create a club-like atmosphere. This is the closest you’ll get to clubbing during this pandemic, so might as well just roll with it!

Besides, which clubs let you play with paint and hurl it at others on the dance floor? Do that anywhere else, and you’ll be thrown out by the bouncers in a jiffy and likely get famous overnight.

The Neon Playground will only be happening on 22 January 2021, a Friday, and there are 5 time slots to pick from. Each 1-hour session costs $40 and is limited to 6 people. Make your booking here.
