The Uniqlo x Beauty In The Pot: Kawaii Friends hotpot t-shirts have been specially launched in time for Chinese New Year, and are available for purchase at the Orchard Central outlet.

There are 4 t-shirt designs to choose from. Although the illustrations are rather cute, they’re not juvenile in nature and are suitable for both women and men.

As Uniqlo is a Japanese brand, it is unsurprising that these hotpot tees come with Japanese elements. For example, the Onsen tee shows a cube of tofu relaxing in hotpot broth, as though it is soaking in a hot spring.

Then there’s Fujisan, featuring Beauty in the Pot’s Ebiko Prawn Paste dish masquerading as Mount Fuji.

The Futon t-shirt shows beancurd skin rolls stacked upon each other like a rolled-up Japanese futon mattress.

Koinobori has a pair of chopsticks gripping onto some fish, illustrated to look like the eponymous koi flags, also known as “carp streamers”. These are commonly hung up in Japan to celebrate the fifth day of the lunar calendar.

You’ll want to make sure you’re wearing one of these when dining at Beauty in the Pot, for those who do will get to enjoy 50% off the exclusive Ebiko Wasabi Prawn Paste (U.P. $10.40) - that’s over $10 saved.
