Though wintery holidays abroad are not possible at the moment, you can still whisk yourself away on an imaginary trip to the Nordics with Poinsettia Wishes 2020, housed in the cool 23°C air-conditioned environment of the Flower Dome. One can always pretend, right?

At the centre of it all is a grand replica of Netherlands’ Gouda City Hall, a towering castle-like landmark that many flock to for candle light-ups during Christmas.

The structure is decorated by festive garlands and baubles, and flanked by an army of life-sized Nutcrackers standing stately around it. This is further surrounded by live Christmas trees in beds of red and pink Christmas flowers - including the famed Poinsettias, of course!

Other seasonal florals that are part of the display include merry red Kalanchoes and delicate white Christmas Roses.

Walk down the path and you’ll find some snow-capped Christmas cottages looking straight out of a storybook. If you view the scene from above, it’s almost like gazing down at a toy town!

There’s also a little wishing well that looks like it’s made of real bricks - even though it’s not. While you can’t throw any coins in, you can still make a wish for the upcoming year!

The whole display looks even more magical at night, where twinkling fairy lights and Luminarie light sculptures illuminate the dome.

This is the first time in 5 years that there are Luminarie light sculptures set up in the Flower Dome, and all of them have been expertly handmade by Italian craftsmen. Traditionally, they are made using paper lanterns and lit up with candles, but these modern versions use LED lights.
