This Girl Has A Condition Where She Would Fall Asleep Anytime, Anywhere And Her Ex Didn't Like It
This girl got dumped by her boyfriend because she fell asleep 10 minutes into her dinner date.... for a valid health reason.
22-year-old Annabelle Hutt from the U.K. suffers from severe narcolepsy, a rare brain disorder that would cause her to fall asleep uncontrollably up to 15 times a day! Though unfortunate, don't you think she's our modern day Sleeping Beauty?
When she was 16, Annabelle thought she found someone who can finally accept her for who she is but she was wrong.
One day, out of the blue, he called me and told me it was over. He said he wanted a girlfriend who he could stay up late with, and someone who could go for dinner without falling asleep. I was devastated, and it was then I thought my narcolepsy was going to completely ruin my chances of having a relationship.
When she was 18, she was once again diagnosed with another nightmare: cataplexy. When triggered by strong emotions, this condition would cause muscle weakness which means that if Annabelle gets too happy, excited, sad or angry, she might just plop down on the floor without warning!
After the relationship and her new diagnosis, she accepted that she might never find a man who would accept her for who she is anymore.. But she was wrong.
During a family holiday in Austria in 2015, Annabelle met 26-year-old Dutch student Maikel Breukelman, from Groningen, the Netherlands.
I told him about my conditions and he was so supportive. He tried to make light of it, telling me he loved the idea of being able to nap with me during the day.
And just like that, the two began their long-distance relationship but no distance could affect what they have for each other~
Maikel is an avid sports lover and he always appreciate a good sweat~This certainly rubbed off on Annabelle seeing how she's now a personal fitness trainer in the Netherlands, where Maikel is at.

Both of them struggled with Annabelle's illness but realised that by working out, Annabelle is able to have better control of her body and can stay awake for a good few hours!
In 2015, Annabelle flew out to surprise Maikel during his football game but as she was walking over to the football pitch, she felt a sudden rush of emotions (she was too happy, duh!) and the next thing we know, she collapsed. Thankfully, Maikel rushed over, picked her up and carried her over to a bench.
Annabelle and Maikel have now developed ways to cope with her condition~ During emotional goodbyes, Maikel would her her tightly so she don't fall to the floor.
It's always so heartwarming to see couples fighting against adversities and coming together for love~ We are glad that Annabelle never gave up finding love and we hope that they will live happily ever after until the end of time! *heart eyes*
