The Stunning Field Of Hydrangeas In Taipei, Taiwan Is A Must-Visit Spot For Future Travels

Just a bus ride away from all the hustle and bustle of the city is a stunning nature escape! Yangmingshan National Park (陽明山國家公園) has views of lush forests, waterfalls and one of the best flower viewing spots with endless fields of hydrangeas.

Spanning 114 square metres, Yangmingshan National Park is home to scenic parks, hiking trails, hot springs and picturesque fields of flowers.

Every season brings different flowers abloom, with one of the most stunning landscape scenes being hydrangeas in late spring and early summer.

To get a view and IG snaps of the hydrangeas, plan your visit there from April to June as that's when they are in full bloom.
During this hydrangea season, Instagrammers will be spoilt for choice on photo backdrops. Hydrangea flowers in a myriad of colours like blue, purple, white, pink and red scatter all over the fields like flower-shaped snowflakes.

For about NT$100 (~S$4.66), you can pick flowers in designated areas to create a bouquet.
If you're concerned about your stamina (or lack thereof?), rest assured that these routes where the hydrangeas are blooming are relatively easy to trek. They're suited for families with children as well.
The hydrangea fields are located at the Zhuzihu area of Yangmingshan (陽明山竹子湖高家繡球花田園區). If you want to head to Zhuzihu directly, here are some routes to get there:
- Beitou MRT Station - Take route S9 or 129 to Zhuzihu or Ta ke route 230 to Yangmingshan Terminal and walk to Yangmingshan Transfer Station to take route 108, 124, 128, 129, 131, S8 ,S9
- Shipai MRT Station - Take route S8* or 128*
- Taipei Railway Station - Take route 260 to Yangmingshan Terminal and walk to Yangmingshan Transfer Station to take route 108, 124, 128, 129, 131, S8 ,S9
- Jiantan MRT Station - Take route 260, R5 to Yangmingshan Terminal or or buses 111, 127 to Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot, Transfer to route 108, 124, 128*, 129, 131, S8 ,S9
*Buses will route to Zhuzihu only during the flowering season.
