Taking a peek into Hotel Mimaru’s website, it seems that all their Pokemon-themed rooms are designed to be large enough for 4 adults - either with 2 double beds, or 1 double bed with a bunk bed.
This makes it ideal for families, especially those with kids. In fact, you’re allowed to squeeze 4 adults + 2 kids into a room. But if you’re only here with bae, then just take the chance to enjoy the extra space!

Upon entering, you’ll first come face-to-face with a giant Snorlax plushie smack in the middle of your Pokeball bedsheet-clad bed. This big guy will be your cuddle buddy for the rest of your stay.

Other details you’ll notice are more Pokeballs on the walls, along with familiar Gen 1 characters like Jolteon, Charmander, Magikarp, and of course, Pikachu. See how many you can spot!

Though Japanese hotel rooms in big cities have a reputation for being tiny, these Pokemon ones are pleasantly spacious, with a flat-screen TV and comfy seating area for everyone to gather around at.

Have fun sipping drinks and eating snacks off the Pokeball-themed cups and plates, and keep an eye on the giant Pokeball wall clock so you don’t miss the train you’re supposed to catch.

You won’t be able to take the kitchenware home, but you’ll be glad to know that you’ll receive a drawstring goodie bag with a Pikachu welcome card and 2 towels. These are all exclusive to the hotel and can’t be bought elsewhere.
The designs vary slightly depending on whether you choose to stay at their Tokyo or Kyoto branches. If you wanna catch 'em all, you've got a good excuse to city-hop and cover both in one trip.

Prices vary depending on season. We keyed in random dates for a branch in Tokyo and the lowest price we got was over JPY35,000, which is more than S$468. That sounds steep, but max out the room occupancy and split the cost with 3 other friends, and you’ll be paying slightly over S$100 per night - pretty reasonable, considering the decor and location!
