As it's Lee Min Ho's first drama after being discharged from military service, fans were particularly excited to catch him on screen again.

The King: The Eternal Monarch is a fantasy romance drama about two parallel universes of a monarchy and a democracy. Emperor Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) tries to close the door between the two worlds and ends up joining forces with Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun), a modern day detective.

It's safe to say some really heart fluttering moments and lines read by Lee Min Ho managed to make viewers swoon which probably helped with the viewership ratings for the first two episodes.

If you have watched the first two episodes and can't wait for the next one, relieve those swoon-worthy moments with us. If you haven't, there are spoilers ahead so proceed with caution.

As the two characters live in parallel universes, it took Lee Gon 25 years to meet Jung Tae Eul. When he finally saw her and overcame the initial shock, he told her not to leave and that he wanted the day to be a long day so that he could spend more time with her. How sweet!

#2 Lee Gon pouring his heart out to Jung Tae Eul

Lee Gon thanked Jung Tae Eul for existing because he was determined to find her and that actually helped him feel less lonely after his father's death and having to take on the role of a King at a young age. A guy who is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve? Sign us up! ?

#3 Lee Gon going on and on about science

Lee Gon tried explaining to Jung Tae Eul that he came from a parallel universe but like any other normal human being, she didn't quite believe him. To make her understand, he went on and on about science and quantum mechanics. This isn't exactly heart fluttering but we love an intelligent man and it's just adorable to see him explaining something so passionately!

#4 Lee Gon's marriage proposal

This one definitely takes the cake! It's rare to see the main lead of a K-drama confessing his feelings just two episodes in but as expected from the writer Kim Eun Sook (the brain behind Descendants of the Sun and Goblin), this moment made us squeal more than it really should. Just like all the other K-dramas, Lee Gon dropped this bomb on us at the end of episode two and now we have to wait to see Jung Tae Eul's response. What a cliffhanger, right?

Did these heart fluttering moments make you swoon? If not, what were your favourite scenes from the first two episodes?
