One of the easiest ways to make your outfit look work-appropriate is by wearing tops with a collar.

But a formal-looking collared top can make one look stiff and unapproachable which is not what most of us want. So, make your collared tops suitable for work but also fashionable by following these style tips that will liven up your every day office outfits.

Check them out below!

#1 With high-waisted dress pants

Make your legs look like they go on and on by pairing high-waisted dress pants with your collared top as this gives the illusion of longer legs. Remember to tuck in your top for a better effect and to avoid looking sloppy.

Don't button your top all the way up as that will give off a stuffy look. Instead, leave one or two buttons open for a laid-back vibe that is still suitable for work. You could also fold the sleeves of your top to achieve the same effect.

#2 With an A-line skirt

Wear an A-line skirt with your collared top if you wish to hide wider hips. This pairing can bring you from day to night and is suitable for both work and after-work dinners or night outs with your girlfriends.

As skirts are shorter than pants, you won't have to fold up the sleeves of your top if the length fits but if the sleeves are too long. Simply push the sleeves up slightly or fold them if you want your outfit to look less formal for an after-work event.

Whoever said a collared top and a collared blazer will be a flop is lying! There's no rule that says two collared clothing pieces will not go well together so go ahead and pair your collared top with your blazer.

Wearing a blazer is a great and efficient way to make your office outfit instantly look work-appropriate but you could also just remove it after work to make your outfit look less formal for a dinner date. Try hanging the blazer on your shoulders without putting your arms through the sleeves for an even more powerful office look!

Just like how a collared top will look good with a short A-line skirt, it will also look equally stunning with longer skirts such as a midi skirt. Retain a feminine look with a midi skirt that falls below your knees but remember to tuck your top in otherwise it will clash with the flares on the skirt.

#5 With skinny jeans
