CHIJMES is a historic building complex which began life as a Catholic convent. Built in the 1840s, this 180-year-old complex has transformed into a unique lifestyle venue that integrates history with modern-day stories.

The grand yet elegant architecture makes a beautiful backdrop for your photos. We recommend wearing clothing in a light or pastel colour to match with the white building.

When you are tired from all that posing, drop by one of the restaurants there to recharge!

Take note of the license fee charges should you wish to take wedding, bridal, cosplay and other professional photo shoots, and photography in areas managed by CHIJMES (excluding CHIJMES Hall, the front of CHIJMES Hall, the Corridor and the Steps directly outside CHIJMES Hall).

#2 Fort Canning Park

Fort Canning Park is no stranger to locals but this hidden gem might be!

There is a spiral staircase located in the park that looks ordinary at a glance, but once you find the right angle, the mundane staircase can transform into a beautiful photography location.

Sit or stand on the stairs, then get your photographer to take the picture from a low angle at the bottom of the stairs. The low angle shows a circular opening at the top surrounded by greenery that looks simply stunning!

#3 Upper Seletar Reservoir

Upper Seletar Reservoir is a popular place for couples to take their wedding photos at, all thanks to this absolutely insta-worthy Casuarina tree!

Situated between two benches, the majestic-looking tree will make a great backdrop for your photos.

Get your photographer to stand directly in front of the tree to take the shot for a symmetrical photo that is pleasing to the eye. We recommend getting there during sunrise or sunset to catch the golden hour!
