Fans of Hong Kong dramas, you are in for a treat!
If you have been following Hong Kong dramas for a while now, you will know about the legendary modern suspense series Forensic Heroes (法证先锋), which follows a team of forensic scientists and police officers to solve crimes.
The different instalments have had veteran TVB actors such as Bobby Au-Yeung, Frankie Lam, Kevin Cheng, Wayne Lai, Linda Chung, Yoyo Mung and Kate Tsui featured in their series, making it a series that many look forward to whenever TVB releases a new instalment.
Each of the instalments have had high viewerships and many people have been requesting for a new series following the last instalment in 2011. Nine years on and the series is finally given the green light to screen on television next month!
Read on to find out more about the new instalment!
Forensic Heroes IV (法证先锋 IV) features a brand new cast including Raymond Wong (黄浩然) as senior chemist Colton Ko On Ko-Sir (高安), Selena Lee (李施嬅) as senior forensic pathologist Dr. Man Ka-hei (聞家希) and Shaun Tam (譚俊彥) as CID Senior Inspector Kwok Fai-wong King-sir (郭輝煌). The three form the core of crime-solving and we are looking forward to their on-screen chemistry as a team!
Although the cast is new, the leads have many years of acting experience under their belt and are expected to create the same exciting action and suspense-filled atmosphere as with previous iterations.
The drama was slated to release as one of the TVB blockbuster dramas in 2019 but had to reshoot its scenes after one of their cast members, Jacqueline Wong, was embroiled in a cheating scandal with married Hong Kong actor, Andy Hui.
Jacqueline Wong's role as reporter Chris Chui Yi (徐意) was replaced with actress Roxanne Tong and the reshoot reportedly cost TVB another $10 million HKD (~SGD 1.7 million). Jacqueline's scenes were deleted and a new script was written with Roxanne's interpretation of the character.
We believe many die-hard Forensic Heroes fans are looking forward to the new instalment and they won't have to wait much longer! The drama will air its first episode on 17 February 2020 as one of TVB's blockbuster dramas in 2020 and will have a total of 30 episodes. If you enjoy crime shows, why not give this drama a try when it is out?
