Let Your Makeup Last All Day While Counting Down To The New Year With These Tips

There are only a few days left to 2020 and if you are heading out to a countdown party to usher in the new year, you will want your makeup to last all day especially in this hot and humid weather.

Imagine kissing your boyfriend or crush when the clock strikes 12, or meeting a cute guy at the party with all your makeup melting off your face. Not cute.

Check out our tips below on how to let your makeup last all day!

#1 Use a moisturiser before applying makeup

Prep your skin before applying makeup by using a good moisturiser that will hydrate your skin from inside out.

This helps your makeup stick to your skin and prevent excessive sebum production throughout the day that will cause your makeup to slip and slide.

#2 Use a setting powder

A setting powder helps to remove the stickiness from your foundation and control sebum.

You can still achieve the dewy look as long as you use the powder on the right places. Dab a small amount on your T-zone, inner cheeks and chin where there is more oil production.

You should still set your makeup with powder even if you have dry skin (but do it minimally) because the sweat and oil from all your partying can cause your makeup to smudge.

#3 Use an eye primer

Most people will be putting on heavier makeup for the New Year's Eve party because it's a special occasion so to make your eye makeup last as long as possible, use an eye primer.

Eye primer prevents creases, smudges and makes your eyeshadow colours more vibrant.

#4 Use a waterproof mascara

You wouldn't want to look like a panda with mascara smudges around your eyes, right?

To prevent that, use a waterproof mascara that will last all night on your eyelashes. It will be more difficult to remove at the end of the day but you can use an oil-based remover to remove waterproof makeup easily.

#5 Use an eyebrow mascara

Your eyebrows are probably the most important feature as it frames your face. Having a smudged eyebrow that you can't fix at a party can be embarrassing.

Fill them in as usual but remember to brush on a layer of eyebrow mascara to keep your eyebrow hairs and the parts you have drawn in intact. You won't have to worry about your eyebrows disappearing in the middle of the party!

#6 Moisturise your lips before applying lipstick

A chapped lip will ruin how lipstick looks on your lips and it's not a cute look too. Moisturise your lips to get baby smooth lips that will make any lipstick look good.

Flaky lips will not make your lipstick last so use a lip balm or lip mask regularly!

#7 Use a setting spray

Setting sprays come in many different types such as oil control, dewy finish and more. Choose one that complements your skin type and spritz some on to set your makeup.

It will help your makeup last longer and prevent it from smudging or disintegrating in the middle of the day.
