Live Your Potterhead Dreams At Platform 9 & 1/2 Cafe In Ipoh
Although the last Harry Potter movie instalment was released in 2011, it is still insanely popular with clothing, guest house and even jewellery inspired by or collaborating with the franchise. Although there are some Harry Potter-inspired cafes in Singapore and Seoul, there is now another one in Ipoh, Malaysia that you should check out!
Read on to find out more about this magical cafe!
Platform 9 & 1/2 Cafe is Malaysia's first Potter-themed cafe and it is located at the (in)famous Concubine Lane in Ipoh. Although it is located a little far in from the main road, the exterior is noticeable with the two old-school London-esque windows similar to those found in Diagon Alley.
Walk into the cafe and be welcomed by the rustic, industrial interior with exposed bricks and cement, accompanied by black furniture and leather seats. The cafe was remodelled from a former old shophouse and the owners retained the original structure which works well with the rustic magical theme.
Make sure you try their in-house exclusive non-alcoholic Extra Large Butterbrew Float, a homage to the Butterbeer found at Hogsmeade! Be warned though, the float is really big and you should probably share it with someone!
You can even play dress-up at the cafe and wear a robe and scarf from your Hogwarts house. There's even a trolley that you can take photos with at the cafe and pretend you are travelling to Hogwarts at Platform 9 3/4!
Live your Potterhead dreams and experience the magic of the World of Wizardry at Platform 9 & 1/2 Cafe!
