New Disney Plus Streaming Service Has All Your Favourite Movies And Shows

Which is why we're thrilled that Disney has just launched Disney Plus, a streaming service that lets you binge watch all your favourite Disney films and more conveniently from your favourite device!

What is Disney Plus?

Disney Plus is a streaming service like Netflix and HBO. It's an ad-free paid subscription that provides access to Disney's and Fox's huge library of entertainment as well as new, exclusive TV shows, movies, documentaries and shorts.

What shows and movies does Disney Plus include?

It includes all of Disney's family-friendly content plus that of Marvel, Lucasfilm (that means Star Wars), Pixar and National Geographic. Also, the Fox takeover means it has even more to offer like The Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle.

An interesting note is that all the Disney content you can watch at Disney Plus will not be available at any other streaming platform!

Marvel fans can rejoice that Disney has seven live-action series featuring the stars of its blockbuster Avengers movies in their own shows! This includes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in fall 2020; a Loki series in spring 2021; WandaVision with Scarlet Witch and The Vision in spring 2021; and a Hawkeye series in fall 2021. The characters and narratives of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be tied in together between the movies in theatre and Disney Plus' original series!

There will also be original, exclusive shows and movies like The Mandalorian, a big-budget series about a story that takes place five years after the events in The Return of the Jedi, as well as a Star Wars prequel series based on Rogue One.

Disney Plus is also planning to release original documentaries, reality shows, competition series, behind-the-scenes features, nature and adventure titles, animated programming and more!

How much is it?

Monthly fee: USD$6.99 (about SGD$9.52)
Annual fee: USD$69.99 (about SGD$7.95 per month)

Good news for us! Disney Plus is competitively priced and even more affordable than Netflix's Basic plan that costs $10.98 per month. Although the Singapore prices are not confirmed, this gives us a rough idea that it won't break the bank!

Another plus (pun intended) that Disney Plus has over other subscription services is that it allows all subscribers to stream with four devices and access 4K content at no extra cost.

When will it be available in Singapore?

While there's no fixed date for when Disney Plus will be launched in Singapore, their plan is to roll out the streaming service in Asia over the course of the next two years. Let's hope that our Little Red Dot will be one of the first to get it!
