The Joker origin movie, which will be executively produced by Jared Leto (aka The Joker himself), seems to be a priority for Warner Bros and filming is expected to begin in September 2018!
The film will take on a different approach from the other DC movies and just like Wonder Woman 1984, the origin movie would be set in the 80s in New York City.
Let's do a throwback to the last time we saw the Joker: Suicide Squad. Right.... but there isn't much screen time for him. 15 mins, tops?
We all know how The Joke is DC Comics' (and possibly any other comics) most well-known supervillain who's always antagonizing Batmin and his allies both onscreen and on prints.
This origin movie will explore more into how The Joker came to be as the Clown Prince of Crime and will take on a darker and grittier take on the character.

In 2016's Suicide Squad, Jared Leto revived the character with his portrayal and it seems like he didn't get enough of it.
Since this is The Joker's origin movie, we would of course, expect to see how the character came to be the Clown Prince of Crime. It would center around a failed comedian in the 1980s who turns to crime after bombing time after time.
Besides this, Jared Leto is expected to revisit The Joker character in Suicide Squad 2 with rumours saying that he might also be in Gotham City Sirens with a separate movie centered on his relationship with Harley Quinn.
Who Is Jared Leto?
Jared is an award-winning actor, singer, songwriter and director who made his debut on TV in the 90s. Some of the more prominent films he's been in are Fight Club (1999), Panic Room (2002), Dallas Buyers Club (2013), Suicide Squad (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Jared won an Oscar for his role in the Dallas Buyers Club. Woohoo!
Besides all that acting, Jared is also the frontman for the alternative rock band 30 Seconds To Mars famous for their top hits like "The Kill", "Hurricane" and more!
