Lawrence Wong Wins 'Most Promising Actor' After Big Break In Story Of Yanxi Palace
The ex-Mediacorp actor got his big break and is now reaping the results of his hard work.

The Malaysia-born but Singapore-based actor who found fame after acting as Hai Lan Cha (海兰察) in The Story Of Yanxi Palace, was awarded the Most Promising Actor award at the recent 2018 Asian-American TV & Film Festival held in New York on Oct 27.
In a caption accompanying his winning post, Lawrence wrote:
"I was once so lost in my career but now I'm 'Asia Most Promising Actor'! I want to thank my bosses @qinlan__717 and 思聪哥 who literally changed my life, 于老师 for giving me such a good start in China, my beloved team 军平, Eric, 路遥, 大京, 思平 who worked day and night, so tirelessly for me. last but not least, i want to thank my fans for the never ending and never dying love and support for me. i love you guys too!"
Before he was scouted over by his boss Qin Lan (one of his co-stars in Yanxi Palace), Lawrence was actually a Singapore-based actor who's acted in local dramas on Channel 8 like Three Wishes and 118. Though he's won a few TV awards in Singapore, there was only so far he could go.
In several interviews with mainstream medias, he's also shared that that it wasn't easy for him to stay on and chasing his dream of becoming an actor but with hard work and determination.
