Vivian Lai's Husband Alain Ong Is Joining Singapore's Largest Coffee Shop Operator
You might just see him at one of your favourite coffee shops soon.
Even though he's since been removed from his CEO position at Pokka International, it seems like there's a Plan B for Alain Ong.
Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that Mediacorp artist Vivian Lai's husband, Alain Ong, have already made preparations to jump over to Kimly Limited, one of the largest coffee shop operators in Singapore aside from Kopitiam Group, Chang Cheng Group and Kim San Leng.
According to Kimly Limited's website, Alain (also known as Ong Eng Sing) serves as the Group's Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director

He's also on the Group's Audit Committee and Renumeration Committee.

However, in Janauary 2018, the Group announced that Alain has 'retired' from its Board of Directors due to "other principal commitments". At the time of announcement, Alain possesses 5,140,000 ordinary shares in the coffee shop giant so this 'retirement' doesn't mean
About Kimly Limited
The Group was the first coffee shop operator to be listed in Singapore and currently manages 64 foot outlets and 131 food stalls under various brands. One of the more notable brands is Asian Story Corporation (ASC), a brand under the Pokka franchise as well.
Kimly acquired Asian Story for $16 million in July 2018 and they now sells the beverages at all of the drinks stalls operated by them.
