Foodies who cross the border to feast have one less reason to do so.  Souper Tang, Malaysia's award-winning herbal soup chain, is opening in Singapore at Raffles City on 29 July 2026.

TL;DR for first timers: Souper Tang was founded in 2009 by two Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners and Chinese herbal specialists. Its specialty is in Shan Cuisine, an ancient Chinese art of medicinal food where every ingredient is chosen for flavour and its healing and restorative properties. This traditional Chinese wellness concept extends not just to soups but the entire menu of dishes, drinks and even desserts.

The Raffles City restaurant boasts a more modern and upscale ambience compared to the JB outlets. The menu will also have Singapore-exclusives along with soups, wok dishes, rice, noodles, and desserts. To celebrate, diners get to enjoy 50% off opening promotions on selected dishes from 2 to 4 August.

There's a whopping 15 types of signature herbal soups to choose from, which is apparently the largest range in any herbal soup restaurant in Singapore.

If you're stumped, go for the classic: Souper Tang Signature Soup (2-3pax; $28.80, 4-5pax; $38.80). This rich ginseng chicken broth is an instant hit of comfort without that typical herbal-y taste. It's made with a whole chicken leg slow-simmered with Panax Ginseng, dried scallop, fish maw, and shiitake mushroom, finished with rice wine and chicken essence.

For some protein, order the Braised Pork Belly in Rich Dark Special Sauce ($21.80). The thinly sliced pork belly is slow-braised in a blend of premium herbs and rich dark sauce, paired with black sesame buns.

Another must-try is the Stewed Yellow Wine Chicken with Tian Ma Botany ($20.80). It's prepared using Souper Tang's Original Huang Jiu infused with Tian Ma botanicals, which gives it a rich herbal flavour.

Balance your meal with some veggies like the Stir-Fried French Bean with Pu'er ($15.80) that has a subtle tea aroma.

For carbs, try the XO Rice Topped with Twice-Fried Emerald Fish Chunks ($14.80). This flavour-packed dish is served in a stone pot that's heated to 280 degrees which gives the bottom layer of rice a satisfying crisp.

Souper Tang regulars can opt for the dishes created exclusively for Singapore that are available for a limited time.

A surprising favourite of our table was the Jasmine Tea-Infused Sautéed Prawn ($18.80). This dish has fresh, juicy prawns wok-fried with tea leaves, lying on a bed of barley. The understated flavours of tea and barley lets the natural sweetness of the prawn shine - and the combination is delightfully refreshing and refined. Fingers crossed this will have a permanent place on the menu!

Another Singapore-exclusive to savour is the Premium Fish Maw and Pork Tripe Pepper Collagen Soup ($34.80). It's a bold, punchy soup reminiscent of bak kut teh but with even more depth.

There's also dessert like Signature Caramel Beancurd ($6.80), served with rich caramel syrup.

Want a nourishing bowl of Souper Tang soup from the comfort of home? Pick up the ready-to-brew soup packs ($5.95 each | opening promo: buy 5 get 1 free) at the retail corner.

To celebrate the opening of Souper Tang's newest Singapore outlet, diners can look forward to an exclusive promotion. From 2 to 4 August, enjoy 50% off 15 selected dishes including the Signature Soup, Signature Stir-Fried Pork with Jade Ear Mushroom ($10.90, U.P $21.80), Truffle Scramble Egg with Prawn ($7.90, U.P $15.80) and more.

Souper Tang might have a 'healthy food' image, but don't let that fool you! Everything is rich in flavour and deeply satisfying.
