Meteor Garden 2018: Here's The Trailer To The Drama We Grew Up Watching And All You Need To Know About The New F4 And Shancai
F4 is back and they're cooler than ever. I think.
The trailer and official TV series poster for the highly-anticipated remake of Meteor Garden was released on Thursday, 24 May 2018 through Mango Entertainment and Edko Films.
The highly-coveted role of Shancai (杉菜) was secured by breakthrough actress Shen Yue from the hit Chinese TV series 'A Love So Beautiful' while the obnoxious charming Dao Ming Si (道明寺) will be played by Dylan Wang.
The rest of the F4 members Hua Ze Lei (花澤類), Mei Zuo (美作) and Xi Men (西門) will be played by Darren Chen, Connor Leong and Caesar Wu respectively.
The show is being rebooted by its original creator Angie Chai. Earlier last year in April 2017, Angie announced her plans to remake the show into one that's "fuller and flashier" than the original manga series titled Boys Over Flowers (花より男子 Hana Yori Dango).
It is expected to be released in Summer 2018.

More About This 2018 Reboot
As compared to the original series where there were 27 episodes, there will be a total of 48 episodes in this reboot.
The budget set for this series is 30 times more than the budget for the 2001 drama. With the support of various Chinese companies including Mango Entertainment, the drama have a budget of NT$720 million (S$33 million), equivalent to NT$15 million per episode.
