This Emmy magnet (eight wins and 24 nominations!) follows Joel and Ellie as they fight their way through a world infested by a parasitic fungus that’s turned people into freaky zombie-like creatures called "the infected". But that’s not all—they’ve also got to deal with desperate survivors, from mercenaries to cannibals.

The official logline reads: “After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

Just like Season 1 was based on the 2013 video game, Season 2 is set to follow the storyline of the 2020 sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which dives into the fallout from Joel’s action at the end of the first season.

Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), and Rutina Wesley (Maria) will all reprise their roles, along with new faces like Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, and more. Plus, the legendary Catherine O'Hara joins the cast in a mysterious role that’s still under wraps.
