The Game Isn’t Over: New Squid Game Season 2 Teaser Unveiled

Cue mu-gung-hwa kko-chi pi-oet-sum-ni-da because Netflix just dropped a brand new teaser for Squid Game season 2!

The teaser starts with Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) holding a gun as a masked figure approaches. Then, the scene shifts to new contestants, ready for another deadly round of games. The teaser features just one line: a Korean voiceover saying, "We’re ready to start the game."

Gi-hun soon wakes up in his old #456 jacket, signalling that the game is still on. Now, three years after his victory, Gi-hun dives back into the competition with a renewed mission—to take down the organisation. Once again, he and 455 others are thrown into life-or-death challenges, with the prize standing at 45.6 billion won.

Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo will reprise their roles, with Im Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Kang Ha-neul, Yang Dong-geun, and Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P) joining the cast.

Squid Game Season 1 broke records, becoming Netflix’s most-watched series with 1.65 billion views in just 28 days. Lee Jung-jae also made history as the first Asian actor to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, while Squid Game's creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk was the first Asian to take home the Emmy for Outstanding Directing.

Reflecting on the journey, Dong-hyuk shared, “It’s been almost three years since Season 1 was met with incredible response around the world and many unimaginable events took place. On the first day we began shooting Season 2, I remember thinking, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I’m back in the world of Squid Game.’ It almost felt surreal. I wonder how it will feel for you to be back in Squid Game after three years as well.”
