Has severe RBF but is fairly jolly and carefree on the inside. Degree of life satisfaction is heavily influenced by food.

It's undeniable, we're in the era of point-and-shoot cameras again! Y2K trends and nostalgia aside, digital cameras have a certain timeless and authentic appeal where every shot feels intentional and captures your unique perspective.

To celebrate our love for all-things cameras and photography, we partnered with Leica, one of the most coveted camera brands in the market, to host a pop-up event - Authentic Pictures "Made by You" with Leica and GirlStyle. Held on 3 August at Leica Store at Raffles Hotel Arcade, the intimate session was attended by a group of GirlStyle readers who share the same passion for photography.

Guests were ushered into the store where they enjoyed refreshments while testing out Leica cameras.

The main star of the show was the new Leica D-Lux 8, the latest addition to Leica's range of cameras. It is a digital compact camera that fits into any pocket or even your handbag, and is a perfect companion for those stepping up from mobile photography. This sleek camera fits in your hands comfortably and is easy to use, not only because of its minimalist design but also its operation. It features the famously intuitive Leica graphic user interface for photography and videography, fully optimised button design, and ergonomically positioned controls. A tiny but mighty flash unlocks the wide creative possibilities and immerse you in the world of Leica when photo-taking. And finally, the D-Lux 8 comes with a fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34 f/1.7-2.8 ASPH. lens with 3x optical zoom and a 21MP CMOS sensor, which means that image quality is guaranteed to stand out with incomparable aesthetics.

A new range of accessories will also be available, including a handgrip for even more comfort, a camera case, carrying straps, wrist straps and leather protectors.

Digital creator ALVERINA, also known as aloebella, graced the event to share tips on getting the right camera angle, framing and composition to create the most aesthetically pleasing photos.

After that, guests created their own little work of art through a 3D-layered papercraft activity. By strategically layering paper on top of each other, a paper sculpture of the Leica D-Lux 8 camera was formed! The result was a minimalist framed decor piece that guests could bring home to inject some of Leica's timeless aesthetic to their interiors.
