Madison's is an all-day dining destination at the ground floor of the hotel that's inspired by New York City deli culture. The atmosphere is undeniably upscale yet oozes NYC-style coolness with inviting and relaxed vibes. Of course, it serves deli classics like burgers, sandwiches and coffee, but what's especially exciting is its afternoon tea served in a grand chest of drawers.
It arrives at the table like a vintage suitcase returning to its owner who has just disembarked from a train. And to add to the whimsy, diners are handed a key to unlock the trunk and unveil the dainty little treats inside.

At the top compartment are indulgent savouries like mini sandwiches filled with Lobster or Turkey Ham and Norwegian Salmon Tatare in a crispy pie tee shell. Rounding up this comforting start to the afternoon tea are the delicate bite-sized pancakes topped with oscietra caviar and creamy quail egg, and a delightfully flavour-packed curry potato quiche.
Open the top two drawers and you'll find a sweet surprise inside. There's so much deliciousness to get through, from the pillowy soft and fragrant kueh lapis and rich salted caramel chocolate tart to the tangy and buttery raspberry financier and refreshing coconut pineapple mousse.

Finally, the bottom drawer holds a lovely assortment of bites to end the affair on a high note. Hearty raisin scones are scrumptious on their own or with clotted cream and jam, pralines feel like a pampering treat, and chocolate-covered cookies add to the railway theme as they're shaped like luggage tags! Novelty aside, these cookies taste as good as they look. One has an intriguing hint of black pepper and the other has a sweet and smoky gula melaka flavour.
To accompany the afternoon tea is a choice of premium Dilmah tea, which is also an experience in itself as the menu is presented as a case of tea leaves where diners can get a whiff of them before picking one. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with the exclusive Pullman Signature Tea Blend, an aromatic black tea with unique tinges of ginger, peach and frangipani.
