Anne Hathaway Falls For Nicholas Galitzine In 'The Idea Of You'

Every girl loves a chick flick every now and then, and this upcoming movie titled The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine will sweep you off your feet! Based on Robinne Lee's novel of the same title, The Idea of You revolves around Solène (Hathaway), a 40-year-old divorced woman, who ends up accompanying her teenage daughter to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex-husband backs out unexpectedly. While there, she crosses paths with Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the charming frontman of the famous boy band August Moon. Despite Solène's initial reluctance, she and Hayes embark on a passionate love affair that continues long after the festival ends.

What is The Idea of You based on?

Rumour has it that the original book was written based on British singer-songwriter Harry Style's One Direction days.
Lee has discussed the inspiration behind the character of Hayes in her book, denying claims that it was based on Styles fanfiction. Instead, she revealed that Hayes draws from the former One Direction member.

In a Vogue interview from December 2020, she mentioned creating Hayes as her 'dream guy', blending elements of Prince Harry-meets-Harry Styles with a touch of Eddie Redmayne. Lee explained that the initial spark for the book came from watching numerous YouTube videos of Styles and learning about his personal life online. After discovering that Styles 'often dated older women,' she found the seed of her story.

However, she insists that The Idea of You wasn't supposed to be about Harry Styles. Rather, it aimed to tell the story of a woman approaching 40, reclaiming her sexuality, and rediscovering herself. This narrative challenges the societal notion that women lose their desirability and completeness as they age. Check out the newly released trailer below:
