Netflix's Stranger Things season 5 marks the grand finale of the Duffer Brothers' wild ride through Hawkins. We've all been on the edge of our seats, and Season 4 left us hanging with our favourite gang facing off against the evil Vecna and yet another pesky rift. But fear not, because season 5 is coming in hot to tie up all those loose ends. It's the ultimate showdown between Eleven and the Upside Down, and we can't wait to see how it all plays out.

One of the creators of Stranger Things, Ross Duffer, has always been sharing updates from the set. Two days ago, he posted some brand-new behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Stranger Things season 5, giving us an exciting sneak peek at Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin back in action as Max and Lucas. Take a look at his latest post below:

The creator made it clear in a comment that the picture doesn't suggest Max waking up, "this is a pic of Sadie not Max. Max is in a coma." Another photo shows McLaughlin seated beside Max's hospital bed, followed by an image of them holding hands. The carousel also features glimpses of the show's remarkable sets, including Castle Byers seemingly immersed in the Upside Down.

Is Max going to make it in Stranger Things Season 5?

As of now, there's still no clear indication of whether Max will wake up from her coma in the next season. However, speculation about Max's fate was fuelled by photos of Sadie Sink visiting the Stranger Things stage play in London. Sink's visit overlapped with the filming of season 5 in Atlanta, leading to some concerns among fans.

There's cause for optimism regarding Max's future. The main reason is that she's still alive at the end of Stranger Things season 4. Eleven puts everything on the line to rescue her best friend in the finale, and it would be quite a shock for viewers if Max were to die while still in a coma. While there's a chance Max might not survive in season 5, it's highly likely that she'll wake up at some point in the story before anything drastic happens. Well, all we can do now is wait for season 5 and while doing so, you can rewatch Stranger Things season 1-4 on Netflix!
