British superstar Ed Sheeran was just in town last week on 16 February for his Singapore concert, which was part of his +–=÷× Tour. Just hours before hitting the stage, the singer visited several popular eateries in the city to taste local dishes.

The singer-songwriter took to his official Instagram account, where he was accompanied by live streamer and content creator Denise Teo. Together, they visited the first spot called Tarik, a café located in Arab Street. During his visit to Tarik, Ed learned to make Teh Tarik and amazed the café staff with his tea-pulling skills. They were so impressed that they thought he must have done it before.

After trying the Teh Tarik he made, Denise then brought him to Lau Pa Sat to taste some classic Singaporean dishes, like laksa, rojak, chicken rice, satay, kaya toast, and kueh pie tee. Ed seemed to really enjoy the food, especially calling laksa a 'banging' dish.

Denise also shared photos and a video of her outing with Ed. In her caption, she wrote, “What’s not captured is you offering to clean up after we had spilled teh on the floor, our car ride chats and me internally freaking out every other second and hoping you wouldn’t notice it,” she wrote. “Thank you for choosing to spend your birthday in Singapore.”

She also posted pictures from 2015 when she was thrilled to attend Ed’s first concert in Singapore and gave him a handmade birthday card.

The opening act for Ed's concert, Calum Scott, is quite the explorer himself. He also visited Lau Pa Sat to try different kuihs. Throughout his video, he mentioned several times how he was surrounded by food everywhere. He tried ondeh-ondeh, kueh lapis, ang ku kueh, min jiang kueh, and kueh salat. While he seemed to enjoy most of them, he wasn't a fan of ang ku kueh. He even joked that he was ready for round 2 of food hunting. You can check out the video he posted on his TikTok account.
