Din Tai Fung Is Celebrating Their 20th Anniversary With Limited-Edition Plushies & Coin Pouches

Love the idea of hugging and squishing a plushie version of your favourite food from Din Tai Fung? That dream could be a reality as the Taiwanese restaurant is celebrating their 20th anniversary by gifting diners over $200,000 worth of prizes including vouchers and, arguably more importantly, limited-edition plushies.

From 6 October to 30 November 2023, there will be three roving periods across 18 restaurants where the first 50 diners who spend a minimum of $88 in a single receipt will get a go at the Gachapon draw. The prizes that can be won include vouchers from DBS, OCBC, Deliveroo, foodpanda and ShopBack, as well as the covetable merchandise.

The plushie collectibles include three Din Tai Fung food-inspired designs. Each has their own unique personality and comes in two versions: a traditional plushie complete with body and a smaller plushie that doubles as a coin pouch and keychain.

Bao Zai is a cute dumpling who loves hanging out with his friends. He's a master of Din Tai Fung's Xiao Long Bao signature 18 folds. The large plushie version is wearing a Din Tai Fung chef's outfit.

Another adorable dumpling character is Jiao Zi, inspired by one of Din Tai Fung's all-time best-sellers.

The smooch-faced Shao Mai Xiao Jie is bubbly, outgoing and loves meeting new people. We love the 3D shrimp on her head!
