#1: Discover over 50 experiences as part of the Singapore Night Festival

This one is perfect for the night owls and art lovers out there! The 14th edition of the Singapore Night Festival is back this year with more than 50 performances, artworks, and tours under the theme of 'Singapore, the Great Port City'. From light-up art installations and sculptures around the vicinity of the Singapore National Museum, to live jazz music and dancing at Capitol Singapore's Outdoor Stage, there will be much to see and explore during the festival.

For those who prefer to skip right to the party, head on over to the Festival Village @ Armenian Street, Festival Village @ CHIJMES, or the Main Festival Village @ SMU Campus Green. There will be plenty of refreshments available, along with live performances and projection mapping spectacles.

#2: Claim free pints of Tiger beer and browse a flea market at Holland Village

In celebration of this year's National Day, Tiger Beer is throwing a street party in the vibrant neighbourhood of Holland Village. Select bars and restaurants like Harry’s, Wala Wala, The Pit, and more will be offering 58 free pints of Tiger to customers at 5pm. You'll definitely want to head down early because the giveaway is only valid for 8 minutes, while stocks last!

For those keen on indulging in a little retail therapy, this street party will also have a flea market with an array of local artisanal products up for sale. #7: Delve into the mystical world of Studio Ghibli at the UNIQLO x Studio Ghibli installations

Whether you've got just a bit of time to spare or have a full day freed up, the Studio Ghibli-themed activities at Bugis+ will provide you and your company tons of entertainment. To start with, free film screenings of fan-favourite Studio Ghibli films like Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Whisper of the Heart will be held at Golden Village Bugis+ from 17 August to 22 August.

There will also be mall activities like limited-edition stamp collections, photo ops and movie-inspired immersive installations at Bugis+ between 18 August and 14 September. #8: Marvel at the National Day fireworks display over tipples and bites from a rooftop bar

#9: Have a taste of the famous Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

The popular ice cream brand from New York, Van Leeuwen, is officially hitting our shores in early August! The new store, located at Orchard Central, will have a seating area where diners can enjoy their popular French-style ice cream (which uses twice the amount of egg yolks as regular ice cream does, so it has a super creamy taste).

Diners can expect classic flavours like Sicilian Pistachio, Earl Grey Tea, and Mint Chip, as well as all-American favourites like Honeycomb, Marionberry Cheesecake, and Praline Butter Cake. Besides their natural French-style ice cream, there will also be vegan options available at the store.

#10: Try over 100 craft beers at the Brewnanza Fest by Brewlander

Beer enthusiasts are not going to want to miss this. Brewnanza Fest, hosted by Singapore's Leading Craft brewery Brewlander, will be bringing over 100 unique craft beers together from both local and internationally-renowned breweries. Not only are some of these featured beers usually unavailable in Singapore, some are completely new to the region altogether!

If letting loose for a couple of hours on the dance floor just isn't enough for you, try hitting up Sundown Festival, a 2-day music festival with a heavy focus on EDM that runs from sundown till late! Back for its 12th edition this year, the lineup boasts international acts like Taiwanese sensation Jam Hsiao, DJ Kim Lee (of Bling Empire), Namewee (黄明志) and R3HAB, along with well-loved local artists like Glenn Yong and Iman Fandi.

#12: Feast to your heart's desire at Sentosa Food Fest

The blazing hot weather has got us all craving the comforts of being indoors — especially when the AC is put on full blast! But if there was one reason for a fun night out, the Sentosa Food Fest has got to be it. Stretching across 3km of the Siloso Beach waterfront, the festival will feature cuisine made by local and international chefs from over 100 leading food establishments!

Do take note, however, that not all the eateries will be available at the same time. The festival will rotate between 3 different themes: GrillFest (7 - 30 Jul 2023), Restaurant Trail (14 - 25 Aug 2023) and Food Truck Fiesta (1 to 17 Sep 2023). GrillFest brings smokey and barbeque dishes to the forefront, while Restaurant Trail emulates curated, restaurant-tasting-style experiences, and the aptly named Food Truck Fiesta will see many young and aspiring chefs lead a Grand Prix-themed food fiesta — with their dishes served right out of the vehicles!

#13: Check out the world of tiny wonders at Kult Gallery's exhibition of miniature creations

It's time to enjoy the little things in life, literally! Kult Gallery is hosting the works of over 25 artists who have contributed their littlest artworks to this exhibition. Playfully named Itsy Bitsy Teenie Winnie Super Mini Thingy, the gallery will be focused on showcasing small creations, like miniature art, dioramas, and mini collectibles.

Visitors can expect an interactive session here, complete with hands-on activities such as customising their own miniature figurine (which you can bring home). There will also be opportunities available to indulge in some retail therapy at the end of the experience — you can buy DIY dollhouse kits from Blue Stone Craft on site!
