Today, it has expanded its services to create currency-related gifts and lifestyle collectibles like figurines and medallions. Its new Sanrio x The Singapore Mint Lunar Collection has coins, red packets and keychains, amongst other things, themed after fan-favourite characters Hello Kitty, My Melody and Little Twin Stars.

The Sanrio Happy New Year Hongbao comes in three colours - red (Hello Kitty), pink (My Melody) and yellow (Little Twin Stars), each comprising a gold-foil medallion of the respective character. Priced from $16 each, they make a unique red packet for the young and young-at-heart.

If you know someone who loves collecting keychains, you can consider getting them the Sanrio Happy New Year Keychain (from $30 each) in the Hello Kitty, My Melody or Little Twin Stars design. These simple yet eye-catching objets are made from 24K gold foil.

Alternatively, you can choose the pink or red acrylic Sanrio Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel Bag Charm (from $15 each), which also doubles up as a display ornament.
