New Minion Exhibition In Singapore: 8 Themed Zones With Interactive Elements, Photo Spots, Merch Store & More
The bittersweet closure of the beloved Madagascar zone at Universal Studios Singapore brings a silver lining: The takeover of the upcoming Minion Land which will have 3D rides, themed eateries, and a merchandise store. While works are still in progress, fans of the endearing Despicable Me critters can look forward to another attraction, A Minion’s Perspective Experience, which has made its stop at Sentosa after touring other cities such as Taipei, Seoul, Shanghai, and more.
With 8 themed zones and plenty of interactive elements, this 4-month-long pop-up will be up and running at Resorts World Sentosa till early 2023. As its name suggests, it will give you a glimpse of a Minion’s life and what goes on inside the heads of those bumbling yellow creatures. Here’s a little sneak peek!
8 themed zones at A Minion’s Perspective Experience in Singapore
Zone 1: Re-visit some iconic movie snippets

Refresh your memory of the Despicable Me films with a pre-show theatre displaying snippets of the movies’ most iconic scenes. Be prepared for lots of laughs as you witness the Minions going about with their antics!
Zone 2: Take a look behind the scenes of the movies
After watching the movie clips, you’ll be going behind the scenes to have an insightful look into their making with a film showcase. This will include original sketches, stills, character design mock-ups, and a collection of quotes.
Zones 3 & 4: Check out Gru’s interactive lab experiments

The next two zones get even more exciting, where you’ll first be passing through an interactive hallway to reach Gru’s Lab, where the antagonist-turned-protagonist worked on his inventions with Dr Nefario.

Interactive elements here include a Fart Gun Test, a Blueprint Experiment Console Table, Immersive Goggles, and a Gru Character Dossier.
Zone 5: Unleash your inner child with a giant unicorn & digital colouring wall

The Girls’ Room will likely be the top highlight of your visit if you love all things colourful and magical. This is where you’ll be surrounded by psychedelic doodles featuring rainbows, cupcakes, and outer space motifs, while learning more about Margo, Edith, and Agnes Gru.

There are plenty of interactive elements in store, with a life-sized unicorn sculpture, an Interactive Fluffy Wall, and a Digital Colouring Wall where you’ll get to watch your own doodles come to life . Time to unleash your inner child!

Zone 6: Enter the dark side with the villains

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the cunning villains of Despicable Me undeniably make things all the more exciting. Here, you’ll get to play an El Macho Memory Game, and bust out your best moves in a Bratt Dance.
Zone 7: Catch bananas and build your own Minion

Time to go ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-nanas at the cheery Minions Zone, which has a multimedia a Banana Mania game that’ll have you throwing balls at moving banana targets to sore points. While you’re there, take the Which Minion Are You quiz, and create your own little minion friend with Build A Minion!
Zone 8: Explore how Minions “evolved” through various eras

It appears that the Minions, like us humans, have “evolved” through the different ages - from the Stone Age to the ancient Egyptian era, and the time of King Bob. Take a walk down history with the Minion Age zone to see how the Minions and their lives have changed over the years, while re-visiting some classic moments of these adorably rotund characters.
